Welcome to September 2025. A profound energy is taking place now with September being a double energy of the 9 vibration. We are presently three quarters of the way through a 9 universal year and September is the 9th month of the year. What does this mean for us on a grand scale? While 9 energy is the number of the compassionate humanitarian, it is also a number that asks us to complete or end something. This energy has been the main theme throughout 2025. On a simpler plain, we may have discarded things or ideas, or perhaps said goodbye to a place of residence or a job. In this case, it was due time to say goodbye and the 9 energy supports that.

On the more challenging side of this number, we may have been forced to let go of a loved one or a place or experienced loss in other ways beyond our control. Although challenging and shocking, the universe sometimes forces things upon us to get us to a place of balance again. Karma is the law of love and balance. Life is always happening FOR us, not TO us.
This is the end of a cycle on a universal level as numerology cycles from 1 to 9. Think of what began in 2017 for you; this was the beginning of a new cycle globally. It may not have felt like new beginnings for you as your personal numerology is different from the universal year; however, there are tones of it for everyone. If this is your 9 personal year, it can be very potent for you.
On a global scale, 2017 was when the US/world witnessed the inauguration of Donald Trump. The "Me Too" movement also began, leading to an awareness and acknowledgement of sexual abuse, sexual harassment and rape culture. In the past nine years, have our eyes been opened to the atrocities of systems in our culture that no longer serve our humanity? Are we ready to LET GO of systems and ideals that no longer serve us? Nine forces us to clear out what is no longer working for us. It is an emotional energy that can lead to change. Whether we like it or not, change is the only constant; we see it in nature all the time.
In the meantime, as we deal with loss, completions, endings and letting go we can all tap into the creative, artistic energy of the nine. It is a good time to pick up a creative project. Take time to find the inner artist in you to express yourself.
Compassion is a major theme at this time. We are given the opportunity to find balance in that role of the compassionate humanitarian.
Loving detachment is a healthy form of love at this time. It is about respecting our own and others individuality and paths. It is about letting go of control and not micromanaging others; trusting that their path is their own and it will unfold as it is meant to be. It is about maintaining your own center and not reacting to others struggles out of fear or attachment. We can offer our compassion and encouragement and allow our loved ones to make mistakes and learn from them.
It is important to know that 9 is the number of drama. Many with the Life Path 9 or 9 in their major numbers can draw and attract drama into their lives, and while being humanitarians, they can cross the line of doing too much leading them to a martyr-like complex. Compassion is not enabling. It offers a kindness and understanding, without taking over another's responsibilities. It empowers the individual who is struggling that they have the strength and means to get through their challenges.
This month the book, The Unexpected Journey: Finding Strength, Hope, and Yourself on the Caregiving Path was released by Emma Heming Willis, the wife of famous actor Bruce Willis. It is a most timely release during this double 9 vibration. She speaks candidly regarding her choices around Bruce's care of his degenerative condition of frontotemporal dementia when she had to make the difficult decision to move him into his own home to receive the best care, 100% of the time, helping her to release her control over the situation and alleviating the burden it had on her and the family. This represents the true compassion of the 9 vibration. It is courageous and sets a great example for many who expect to be the rescuers while losing themselves in the process. It asks us to reach out for help and healing and be in a place of receiving as well. One cannot have compassion for others without experiencing it for themselves.
As I write this, it is the 9th of September. The day of 9 added to the 9 month also equals 9 and we are presently in the 9 global year, in a 9 global month.....quadruple 9 energy!!! It comes as no surprise then, that Oprah's new Oprah's Book Club pick, which was released today, is none other than Elizabeth Gilbert's Book, All The Way To The River. It takes us on a journey through her extremely co-dependent and enabling journey with the love of her life, Rayya, which almost devastated their relationship and almost took the life of Elizabeth. Through Elizabeth's experience and recovery, she holds the torch for those of us who can't seem to unblur the fine line between loving and enabling, leading us back to a place of pure self-acceptance and love.
We are at a very sensitive time here on earth where the Earth School message is so clear; compassion for self, reaching out for help and allowing others to be empowered on their own journeys. I write this especially on behalf of the empaths on this planet who may not understand the harm they cause to themselves by creating the disruption to others who need to find their own way to compassion and healing. Maybe it is time to redefine the 'systems' ideal of compassion (The Martyr) and practice it in a whole new way. Not all rescuing energy is compassion, it is control. We need to observe the whole picture now more than ever and objectively see what is needed of us. What do we need to look at within ourselves in order to change that narrative of the need to rescue others? Can we practice self-love, self-acceptance and self-care and be a beckon of light that sets an example for others? When we practice being present within ourselves, then we can authentically be present with others.
I am reminded of The Compassion Book by Pema Chodron at this time. It illustrates beautifully how to have compassion for ourselves and to acknowledge what has not been honored and nurtured yet.
Rest and reflect in this energy of 9 this month. Release what is no longer serving your highest good and embrace the change that comes with it. All is well.
